The developers of A/B testing tool Visual Website Optimizer appreciate the value of speed and accuracy. That why they have been working on making their code run faster and more reliable.
Last week they announced the official launch of their new tracking code, the asynchronous tracking code. It was already being tested in beta, but now it is recommended to use just the new code.
What does the update to asynchronous VWO code mean?
The difference between the old code and the new one means that the new Visual Website Optimizer code will now be loaded paralel to the other code elements of your website. It's like opening a new lane on a big freeway. Other parts of the code can start loading, without having to wait for the Visual Website Optimizer code to finish loading.
The new asynchronous code has three advantages:
- Your website will load fast - this is useful for a better user experience and is valuable for SEO purposes;
- The website code is more reliable - the chances are higher that all of your other website content will load;
- In case of an 'outage' from the VWO server, your website will finish loading, regardless of what happens.
Updated Visual Website Optimizer plugins for Joomla are now available
Clearly, we are happy with this cool update from the Visual Website Optimizer code. That's why we updated our plugins to support the new asynchronous code. The code has been tested on Joomla 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5.
We recommend all of our users to replace the old code with this newly updated version.
Integrate your VWO results with Google Analytics
The insights you can get from the Visual Website Optimizer interface are amazing. It is easy to see which variation of your test won. However, if you want to get more details, the integration of Visual Website Optimizer data into Google Analytics is extremely powerful. That's why we make this integration possible with our Google Analytics PRO plugin for Joomla 1.5 - 2.5.
